Hey yarn chick40, On the 3D hexagon pillow or blanket – have you tried using a sc back post on the 9th round to keep it from rolling up or even doing a sc in the front loop on round 8th round, then another round of sc n the back loops. You could either join the 2 rounds just mentioned together with another round or join the together with the back loop sc on the final loop. I found that having a heavy edge helps prevent rolling.

I truly wish I could locate the pattern. My mother-in-law made that one many years ago, and she never gave me the pattern. If I should ever happen upon it, I will definitely share. I’m hoping to find it at a used book store someday 🙂

Hi Dorothy,
I’m glad you stopped by to visit and found a few fun things. I have a link on that post that goes to the original pattern. I have very sparse notes on how I up-sized the Angle Wings Pinafore to a toddler 2-3T(ish) size. I followed the pattern, but increased the starting chain to 72 and I repeated row 5 an extra time. Other than that, I really don’t have a whole lot to offer since it’s not my pattern, but I will happily send you my notes.

I love your little crochet popcorn string and have been trying desperately to find a pattern for it. You mentioned that you got the pattern from Craft Magazine/December 1998.
First off… I do not knit or crochet.
That said, I recently returned to being the craft leader for our church craft group that meets weekly. The crafts created are sold at a Christmas Bazaar in November. The last time I was involved with the group was probably around 1998 and one of the ladies must have had the magazine you mentioned. When we discussed making yarn “popcorn strings” she said she had a pattern. The ones she made looked just like the one(s) you have pictured. When I asked her to make some for a project I have planned now she said, “Sure, but you’ll have to get me a pattern.” ??!! She is elderly and does not “computer” so I can’t send her a link to your blog to see if that is enough instruction. 😦
I have been trying to find a used copy of Crafts Magazine/Dec 98 online but have had no luck.
Could you please verify the exact name of the magazine (Crafts?, Crafts Magazine?, etc.) so I can find it.
Thanks so much!

Thank you Lisa!! I have been looking for my page that I ripped out of the craft magazine for the crochet Christmas Garland. I knew it was sometime in the mid to late 90s. I have probably made about 10 12 ft appr lengths and now my husbands cousin is asking for the pattern and I can not find it (I just saw it a couple of weeks ago). Can you please send me a scanned copy of the pattern? Thanks
