crochet:: not really plagiarism

But really?

My post from 2010 that went totally ignored until Jan & March of 2012.  (The stats features in WordPress rock)  I was wondering why that was getting so many hits – because let’s face it, it’s not my best post or best color choice by any means.  I even made a glaringly huge mistake in my sort-of-directions.  (Which btw is that it’s all done with sc 1, ch 1 if you give a damn.)

If you don’t feel like clicking the link:

Gee I can’t imagine where on earth they got this idea (that was published shortly after my post was getting regular hits).

So to my friends at Lily:  I would be nice if you would give a girl the heads-up you were liking her stuff.  Just sayin’.  Or perhaps give her a book deal.  Or a job.  I happen to love yarn and have lots of experience.

It has been said that mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery.

{Thanks for liking it, I’m blushing}

Now go out there and have a ridiculously amazing day friends!

  1. Yip, that’s your concept all right. At least you know you’re designing and making stuff that has real value… 🙂 Now you need to come up something so impossibly and unbelievably unique that anything even vaguely similar from anyone else will be a clear infringement of your rights.

    1. Thanks for the kind words Jill. I especially liked the words ‘real value’ because they are giving it away for free – the irony is not lost on me 🙂 I wasn’t trying to be bitter about, I guess, but all it would have taken was an email saying, ‘hey, we liked your idea!’ With my sense of humor, I suppose if I were to come up with something totally unique I would end up on the What Not to Crochet blog and then I would be THAT GIRL again.
