food:: holiday baking

Good morning!  Well, it is morning here anyway…

MMMMMMmmmm, another wonderful weekend.  Oh, how I live for my weekends right now.  The weeks just can’t make it to Friday at 5pm fast enough for me lately.  I really am enjoying my creative time, and my family, and just being in my own cozy home.  This time of year, heck any time of year, it is so much better to be home than anywhere else!

So, today begins the Great Christmas Bake Fest at my house.  I have amassed the chocolate, and the marshmallows, and the sugars, and the eggs, and the butter, and all the fun bits and pieces to make 5 or 6 different batches of confections to give to my neighbors.  Every year I make care packages of baked goods for the few country dwellers that we live near.

Many years, my Mom and I swap half of all of our baked goods to make more variety…but this year I am on my own as we are both late getting started.

These were some of last year’s yummies I looked up for inspiration.

Ya know how you should NEVER go grocery shopping while you are hungry?  Well, I should not search through recipes before I have eaten!  I will end up sampling waaaaaayyyy too many sweets if I don’t have breakfast soon!

So, my friends, I am off to have some toast before my house is full of sugary, gooey, chocolatey yummy smells and temptations!  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by 🙂
